Salary Negotiation Tips

Many people dread the “What is your salary expectation?“ question.


In the state of California, you can always respond with “What is the range for this role?” and they must, by law, respond. They have even started posting salaries on job boards. And here is a list of states with salary transparency laws.

“California Labor Code 432.3 bars employers from asking job applicants about their salary history when applying for a position. Furthermore, the law employers are also required to provide a pay scale for the position if the applicant requests one.” - Shouse Labor Law Group

  2. H1 B Visa Salaries - Only base salaries, but a decent baseline for salaries without bonuses and RSUs.
