AI Resume Summary
This supports a longer piece on using AI chatbots to update your resume.
The following are summaries for my resume. I ran tests leveraging: OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Perplexity, Anthropic’s Claude, and Google’s Gemini to see which one could best assist me in updating my resume.
Here are the results and my observations:
Option 0: The Original Has worked so far, sort of (Lines: 8)
Strategic and entrepreneurial product management leader with 20 years of experience leading high-performing teams with notable successes innovating for Google, Yelp, and Amazon. Demonstrated expertise in leading both product strategy and product talent to drive exceptional results and business growth, with specific expertise in online advertising, consumer marketplaces, and recommendation platforms. Collaborative leader who excels in building effective teams and guiding them through successful product builds and execution. Passionate about growing product talent across all levels and developing best-in-class managers who make meaningful contributions to product vision.
Option 1: Google Gemini Highlighting mobile and user-focused (Lines: 6)
Accomplished product leader with 20+ years of experience building and scaling iconic, high-engagement consumer-facing products at Google, Yelp, and Amazon. A proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to deliver transformational, mobile-first user experiences. Expert in balancing strategic vision with detailed execution to drive significant business outcomes. Passionate about mentoring and developing product talent to foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
My read: Shows what Gemini can do with a job description. Helped me personally see a way to look more user-focused. Will help for roles where I know I will be an IC.
Option 2: Chat GPT Generic for more leadership-focused roles (Lines: 7)
Strategic and entrepreneurial product leader with 20 years of experience shipping products and driving business growth at Amazon, Google, and Yelp. Proven ability to define product vision, lead execution in high-ambiguity environments, and scale high-impact teams across online advertising, consumer marketplaces, and recommendation systems. Adept at user-centered design, experimentation, and data-informed decision-making. Known for aligning cross-functional stakeholders to deliver measurable outcomes and coaching the next generation of product leaders.
My read: Feels like a slight re-wording of my original summary. I worry about the focus on shipping, more IC-focused. want to get user focus upfront.
Option 3: ChatGPT combined with Google Gemini (Lines: 8)
Accomplished and strategic product leader with 20 years of experience driving innovation, growth, and user engagement at Amazon, Google, and Yelp. Proven ability to define bold product vision, lead execution in complex, high-ambiguity environments, and scale cross-functional teams across online advertising, consumer marketplaces, and recommendation systems. Passionate about delivering transformational, mobile-first user experiences and fostering cultures of experimentation, data-informed decision-making, and empowered team ownership. Known for mentoring product talent and building high-performing teams that deliver lasting impact for customers and the business.
My read: Removes the entrepreneurial, making me realize maybe it is time to remove that, and brings user engagement up earlier. I want more customer focus, and I know in today’s world, getting people management roles is difficult. Hoping this is a blend of the best, but could be lukewarm tea.
Option 4: Anthropic Calling out metrics impact as part of summary (Lines: 5)
Senior Product Management Executive with 20+ years identifying complex user problems and translating them into successful product solutions at Google, Amazon, and Yelp. Combines strong product sense with data-driven strategy to lead cross-functional teams delivering products that generate $500M+ revenue impact. Expert in understanding user needs across advertising platforms, consumer marketplaces, and recommendation systems.
My read: Feels buzzwordy to me but the revenue number in the intro might be a good add.
Option 5: Perplexity Feels more consulting than Product on First Read (Lines: 8)
Innovative product management executive with 20 years of experience scaling industry-leading products for global tech firms. Proven track record in orchestrating cross-functional teams that deliver strategic growth and groundbreaking customer solutions. Drove $500M+ in advertising revenue and led high-impact initiatives across product, engineering, and go-to-market functions. Known for architecting long-term product vision, mentoring next-generation leaders, and fostering cultures of high performance and inclusion. Passionate about data-driven decision-making, user-centric innovation, and shaping the future of digital experiences.
My read: Feels the most formulaic of the bunch, but it could be because I have read the same thing too many times at this point.
