How to Approach Take-Home Assignments

This is a simple 15-point guide to how you can think about tackling product management take-home assignments.

1. Reach out to support network

   • Don't make silly mistakes

3. Read attachments and understand the process

4. Read/Listen suggested articles and ebooks (if you can)

5. Search for other people's thoughts & stories on take-home

6. Outline Approach (double check against requirements)

7. Research products. Try to use (if you can)

8. Build Document/Slide Deck

9. Think Through what you want to Say

10. Sense Check: What is the counter approach to your proposal

    • if you propose improving Driver health (think Uber or Lyft) what are you giving up (quick infusion of cars in the market)

11. Build Deck

12. Sense check with partners

    • (see number 1) don't beg them last minute for help

13. Refine Deck

14. Get people you trust to poke aggressively

15. Keep iterating on feedback
