How AI Impacts Recruiter Screen

It can often be difficult to get honest answers from recruiters. It’s tough if they giveaway too much then it’ll be hard to filter people and every job role company is different.

So I’m always on the lookout for ways of getting into the minds of recruiters and what they’re actually looking for. Today I found a database of prompts used by recruiting in HR. They’re very insightful and show you what recruiters are looking for.

I recommend that you actually run your résumé and or a mock interview transcript through these prompts to see how you sound to the recruiter who is now leveraging AI to filter your responses. try it in chat, GPT bar and if you can get a hold of Claude to go for that as well.

Those who pay for my Substack interview prep newsletter, will get access to me, running my résumé and mock interviews through these prompts. (Sign up for my newsletter here.)

I got access to a database of prompts for recruiting an HR, and here are some of the prompts that you should be concerned about

You will see these six prompts cover three main areas. One is trying to filter for things that they might’ve missed and two is making notetaking and vetting easier.

  1. Red Flag Indicator

    Scan for and highlight any inconsistencies, gaps, or potential concerns in the candidate's employment history or responses, noting specific discrepancies.

  2. Open Questions

    Identify and list the top 5 most important unanswered questions from the meeting. For each, provide the question and, if discussed, its corresponding answer in the following format: - Q: [Question] - A: [Answer if available].

  3. Role Relevance

    Match and highlight specific skills or experiences mentioned by the candidate that align with the job description {add job description here}
  4. Motivation Mapper

    Extract sections of the interview where the candidate discusses their motivation, career goals, and reasons for applying. Analyze these responses to gauge the candidate's enthusiasm and alignment with the company's values and mission.

  5. Soft, skill analyzer

    Analyze the candidate's language use and narrative for evidence of soft skills such as teamwork, conflict resolution, leadership, and adaptability, citing specific examples or statements.

  6. Qualification checker

    Identify specific qualifications, certifications, and experiences mentioned by the candidate. Compare these with the job requirements listed in the job description. Provide a percentage match and highlight any gaps or exceptional qualifications. {list job requirements here}

If you have a paid version of ChatGPT, it might be easier. (I am finding adding a PDF to free versions of these tools is so complicated it might just be worth paying for the full version).
