My (Coach + Creator) Tech Stack

As a PM and entrepreneur, I am constantly testing products. But the ones I keep are what I lovingly call my tech stack. You could call them a coach’s tech stack, or a creator’s tech stack. In today’s world, any entrepreneur or coach needs to build trust in their brand by sharing their thoughts. We all say show me, don’t tell me.

That has turned me into a reluctant but prolific creator. I think I am doing a good job on the creating, given the feedback. But I need to get the word out, but that is for another article.

I am listing out here my tech stack, if you will and grouping it by tasks or jobs to be done (JTBD) they complete for me.

Running by Business Day-to-Day

These are the software/hardware products I use daily

These are the tools I use at least weekly (occasionally monthly)

  • Clideo $9/m - for video and audio recording

  • bkpr $15/m (bookkeeping software) - felt like I had more control and more consistent sync with my bank and control to clean up after I learned.

Bets on the Future

I need to monetize more. I have tested out a lot of things but this is the list I am currently working with:

  • Owwlish $20/m- Course management platform that people access from my site.

  • Sellfy $15/m Only reasonably priced platform for renting audio/videos

Still Need to Use (more)

  • YouTube - I drag my feet on this one. But I know I need to leverage it.

  • LinkedIn - I need to promote myself more. Since I sell a professional service, LinkedIn is the social service I need to use

  • Medium.com - Currently testing it as a marketing tool

  • Google Analytics

Marketplaces

  • 4 to 5 Coaching Marketplaces - I can’t wait to get off them to be fully independent but will acknowledge them as a group, they help me pay the bills.

What I Don’t Use

Education

I fired these products. The common themes: too expensive, serving larger entities, difficult you use, tax nightmare.

  • Thinkific $36/m

  • Kajabi $119/m (+ nightmare for solopreneur taxes)

  • Teachable $39/m (+ nightmare for solopreneur taxes)

  • Teachery $49/m

  • Hacking Squarespace Membership (tried and cancelled)

Social Media

I tried these platforms but they still haven’t worked for me. I might try again.

  • Facebook

  • TikTok

Jobs to Be Done

I still need these jobs sorted out.

  • Backlinks that aren’t spammy.

  • Help getting guest posts on highly influential blogs.

  • SEO monitoring tools that don’t cost more than $5 a month (I only need it once a week or month to check, not running business but no great plans)

  • Easier YouTube video creation and editing (search every week still nothing)

  • Editing my videos and audio recordings
