For clarifying assumptions, there are two approaches.
Ask roughly 3 questions in the form of an assumption you are comfortable taking, but are just double-checking the interviewer’s preferences.
Make assumptions. State them with confidence and get ready to move forward.
NOTE: I prefer the first approach, but many others prefer the assumptions as clear statements.
