BLUF vs. Introclusion

BLUF and Introclusion are two very similar frameworks for opening up a story or email or meeting.

BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front) is a framework for stating the purpose and action required for a business meeting, email, document, etc. When applying it to an interview the BLUF is what is the skill set you are displaying and the impact you had.

Typically for presentations, it should answer the five W’s: who, what, where, when, and why, and provide the most important information. It is a summary (think TL;DR) that should take up to 30 seconds.

I believe the big difference between BLUF and the introclusion is a focus on introducing a concept and then giving the conclusion. My version of the introclusion focuses on product management stories. For product interviews, most of the time your introduction should include company, product, user, problem, solution and results. Basically, the introclusion. It should be shorter than 30 seconds in most cases.
